Tiny reddish mite, genus Tetranychus (not a true spider), that causes much damage to plants, especially those in dry greenhouses, by sucking the sap from the leaves, causing them to become yellow and die. It is prevented by keeping the atmosphere moist, and is killed by fumigation.
